Climate
Elche boasts a typically Mediterranean climate with mild winters and moderately hot summers. There is no great variation in temperature throughout the year, with temperatures oscillating between an average of 26ºC in summer and 17ºC in winter. There is little rainfall and what there is mainly occurs in spring and autumn. There are occasional torrential downpours, especially in autumn. Such downpours are due to the heat that has accumulated in the layers of cloud colliding with the cold fronts that arrive from the North Pole.

A lyrical medieval drama, declared a Masterpiece of World Oral and Intangible Heritage by UNESCO in 2001.
Elx Palm Grove
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000, the Palm Grove has over 200,000 palm trees.
