San Crispín

This is the celebration of the guild of cobblers’ Patron Saint, the most numerous guild in the city. On the Sunday before October 25th a pilgrimage takes place in which the image of the Saint is borne to his shrine where a mass is celebrated in his honour. After the Mass, the townspeople of Elche take away cobblers’ nails as a symbol of prosperity and work. Later a traditional lunch of coca i faves is held.

A lyrical medieval drama, declared a Masterpiece of World Oral and Intangible Heritage by UNESCO in 2001.
Elx Palm Grove
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000, the Palm Grove has over 200,000 palm trees.
