Much more than sun and swimming on elche's beaches
The watersports area of Rebollo beach has been warmly welcomed by the public. This initiative, promoted by Elche town council during the summer months, receives an average of 30 visitors daily, who practise, with or without a motor, one of the sports on offer.
Among the sports on offer are windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and diving. It is also possible to hire the equipment necessary to carry out these sports, as well as catamarans and kayaks.
There are also multiactivity programmes for young people aged between 6 and 16 so that enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy this type of sports along with games on the beach.
The most popular sport has been sailing in a kayak, an easy to handle canoe which has been adapted for use on the sea, followed by windsurfing, which has been very much in demand, especially among foreign visitors.
The price of these activities ranges from 7 Euros to hire a kayak, to 120 Euros for a windsurfing course, and 50 Euros for the Monday to Friday programmes for children.
