Opening hour: October, 21 at 7 p.m. Opening of the Market
October, 23 8.30 p.m. Closing of the Market.
Place: “Congrés Eucarístic” Square and neighbouring streets (next to the Basilica of Santa Maria.)
Summary:
This mediaeval market represents a great number of handicraft trades. Its aim is to leave a witness of the past and present situation of national handicraft giving wide dissemination to its elaboration processes and the materials used. It is a street cultural movement through which we aim to enhance handicraft trade.
At the same time it becomes an improvised film of mediaeval scenes, which will take you back through the tunnel of time giving you a first hand feeling of bygone ages. This market is the ideal tool to make a great number of people travel in an activity which is much longer than a theatrical performance. It’s the return to a time when people were self-sufficient and which has never been treated as it deserves.
Contents: Hand made food, bread, desserts, wood, textile, kindergarten and playgrounds, small farm, live work-shops, group of street theatre, etc.
From October 28 to 30 there is also a D. Quixote Market.
